SLML Retirees to be Recognized at the
2004-2005 SLML Awards Luncheon

Bernie Ferrell retired four years ago but was not formally recognized by SLML. She continues to work at St. Luke’s Hospital Library as needed. Bernie has been a SLML member since 1976. During the 1970s and up until it closed, she was the librarian at St. Louis City Hospital. Her next position took her to the former St. Luke’s Hospital on Delmar Blvd. and when that facility closed, she moved to the current St. Luke’s Hospital in west county.

Kilja Israel has retired from St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau where she served as the hospital librarian for 28 years. She has been a member of SLML since 1977.

Sue Schoening has retired from St. Mary’s Health Center Library. She also worked briefly at the University of Missouri Health Sciences Library but returned to St. Mary’s for the remainder of her professional career.

Monica Shieh has retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood and has since relocated to Kansas City to live near her son.
