The 1998-99 Annual Business Meeting was conducted on Thursday, June 10, 1999 at Matthews Medical Books.

The following documents were distributed to the membership at the meeting: 1998/99 Strategic Plan Evaluation, Treasurer’s Annual Report, and minutes from the February 1999 business meeting.

President Locke called the members to order and thanked Matthews for hosting the meeting and providing luncheon.

The floor was opened to members who attended the Annual MLA meeting. Kathy Mullen and Saundra Brenner shared information from various sessions. Cheryle Cann offered to loan some materials she had acquired at the meeting.

The membership was reminded that organizational reports and minutes from meetings are available on the SLML Webpage.

A report was made by Russ Monika from the Nominating Committee regarding the election for the 1999/2000 year. There were 62 members who voted. Slate of officers for the term are Sylvia Toombs, president-elect; Maria Minowitz, secretary; Barbara Halbrook, treasurer; and Ed Walter and Jill Nilssen, members-at-large.

Cindy Fedders, membership chair, introduced three new members at the meeting. They were Stewart Brower from Bernard Becker Medical Library, and Theresa Wilson and Terrie Maze from Missouri Institute of Mental Health.

Kathy Mullen, Continuing Education co-chair, reminded those in attendance about the upcoming C.E. opportunity "Issues in Website Design" on June 18.

President Locke thanked all the board members, especially the Continuing Education and Program Committees. Awards and Recognition chair Phil Tilghman made presentations of certificates to those who served SLML during the past year.
